Our Promise

Revision Policy

Last updated: April 2025  ·  SongSocial Co.  ·  songsocialco@gmail.com

The core promise

"If the song doesn't honor the story yet, we revise it. No arguing. No upcharge. A revision request means the work isn't done — not that the customer is wrong."

What's Included

Every commission — regardless of tier — includes one revision at no additional cost. The revision is not a bonus or a conditional offer. It is part of what you purchased.

If the delivered song misses something important, the revision is how we make it right. You do not need to argue for it, justify it, or apologize for asking.

What Counts as a Revision

A revision means we rewrite part or all of the song based on your specific feedback. Examples of what a revision covers:

Covered by revision

  • A lyric that feels generic or could belong to anyone
  • A name, place, or detail that wasn't captured
  • The tone is wrong — too sad, too upbeat, not quite right
  • A verse that doesn't feel like the person it's about
  • The hook or chorus doesn't land the way you hoped
  • A key memory or phrase from the intake was missed
  • Language or cultural detail that needs adjustment

Not covered by revision

  • A completely new story, subject, or occasion
  • Adding a new person or event not in the original intake
  • Changing the genre or musical style substantially
  • Starting over with a different set of story details
  • A second revision after the first has been delivered

If you're unsure whether your request is a revision or a new commission, email us and we'll tell you honestly. We'd rather clarify than have you feel uncertain.

How to Request a Revision

1

Reply to your delivery email

The easiest way is to reply directly to the email that delivered your song. That keeps your order details and story in one thread.

2

Tell us specifically what's missing

The more specific you are, the better the revision. "The chorus doesn't feel like my dad — he was quieter than this" is more useful than "it doesn't feel right." Both are valid. The first gets us there faster.

3

We confirm and get to work

We'll acknowledge your revision request promptly and confirm what we're changing. The revised song is delivered as soon as the work is right.

4

Your revised song arrives

The revised song, updated lyric sheet, and a note about what changed are delivered to the same email address as your original order.

Revision Window

Your included revision can be requested any time within 30 days of your original delivery date. If you're planning to reveal the song at an event and want to wait until after to request changes, that's completely fine — just contact us within 30 days of delivery.

After 30 days, revision requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and may be treated as a new commission depending on the scope of changes.

For Sensitive Stories

If your commission is a memorial, military tribute, or other story carrying significant emotional weight, we treat revision requests with extra care. Take the time you need. If something doesn't feel right — even if it's hard to articulate — tell us, and we will work with you until it does.

If You're Still Not Satisfied After the Revision

Our goal is for the song to honor your story. If after the revision you still feel something essential is missing, email us directly. We will review the situation honestly and determine the right path forward. We do not consider a commission fully complete until the story has been honored the way it deserves to be.

Email us at songsocialco@gmail.com. We will always respond and we will always treat your concern seriously.

EP and Album Commissions

For EP (5-song) and Album (10-song) commissions, one revision per song is included — meaning each song in the package can receive one revision. Revision requests for individual songs in a multi-song package follow the same process as single-song commissions.

Questions

If you have any questions about what a revision covers, how to request one, or whether your situation is handled differently, email us at songsocialco@gmail.com. We'd rather answer a question upfront than have you feel uncertain after delivery.
