Plain language first: You commission a song. We write it from your story. Most single songs arrive within five business days of your completed intake, always with care. One revision is included. The song is for your personal use. That's the core of it — everything below adds necessary detail to protect both of us.
By purchasing a commission from SongSocial Co. ("we," "us," "the studio"), you ("the customer," "you") agree to these terms. These terms apply to all commissions regardless of tier.
SongSocial Co. is a storytelling studio that writes original songs from real personal stories. After completing checkout, you will receive a story intake form. Your commission begins when you submit that form with your story details.

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. SongSocial Co. does not store your payment information. Full payment is required before your commission begins. Prices are in US dollars.
Discount codes (including FOUNDING15) apply to the order total and are subject to availability. Only one code may be applied per order.
Your commission begins when you submit your completed story intake form, not when you complete checkout. We do not guarantee a specific delivery date or timeframe — we deliver each song when the work meets our standard for honoring the story you shared.
In practice, most single-song commissions are completed and delivered within five business days of a completed intake. Extended Story and Album commissions unfold over one to two weeks, with songs arriving as their own première moments. We will notify you the moment your work is ready. Your titled song, complete lyric sheet, and personal studio note arrive together.
If you have a meaningful date in mind for your song (a birthday, an anniversary, a memorial service), please mention it clearly in your intake form. We will tell you honestly what we can do. We do not commit to dates we cannot honor with the quality the story deserves.

A revision is not a new song. If the story you want to tell changes substantially after delivery, or if you wish to commission additional songs from a new story, those are new commissions priced at the standard rate.
Because every commission is original work created specifically for you, we do not offer refunds once production has begun. Production begins when you submit your story intake form.
If you have not yet submitted your intake form, you may request a cancellation and full refund within 24 hours of checkout by emailing songsocialco@gmail.com.
In all cases, your included revision is the primary remedy if the delivered song does not meet your expectations. We take revision requests seriously and will not consider a commission closed until the story is honored correctly.
Gift certificates are available at every tier. The purchaser completes checkout and receives a digital gift certificate to give to the recipient. No story details are required from the purchaser. The recipient completes the story intake form on their own time, and the commission begins when that form is submitted.
Gift certificates do not expire and are valid at the tier purchased. All other terms on this page, including revisions, delivery, and permitted use, apply to commissions redeemed from a gift certificate.
Upon delivery and full payment, you receive a personal, non-exclusive license to use your commissioned song for personal, private, and social purposes. This includes:

The songs, lyrics, melodies, and arrangements created by SongSocial Co. remain the intellectual property of SongSocial Co. until full payment is received, at which point you receive the personal license described above. SongSocial Co. retains the right to the underlying composition and arrangement for purposes of its own portfolio and creative work, but will not use your personal story details publicly without your permission.
We approach memorial, military, and other sensitive commissions with exceptional care. If you feel your story requires specific handling, please note this clearly in your intake form. We reserve the right to decline commissions that we determine cannot be completed with appropriate dignity.
SongSocial Co.'s total liability for any claim arising from a commission is limited to the amount paid for that commission. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We are not responsible for technical issues affecting delivery of digital files caused by email provider limitations or customer-side technical problems.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith communication first. If you have a concern, email us — we prefer to resolve issues directly.
